Supporting New Freemasons in Norfolk
Norfolk Blues was created to help and support new Freemasons during the early years of their Masonic journey. We understand that some aspects of Freemasonry can seem unfamiliar or even daunting at first, and Norfolk Blues is here to make that transition smoother and more enjoyable.
Operating under the Provincial Mentoring Initiative, the group is managed by new Freemasons, for new Freemasons. We work closely with the Province’s network of Mentors to ensure that your questions, needs, and concerns are heard and addressed.
Through a programme of events—including social gatherings, educational sessions, and visits to Grand Lodge, Provincial Grand Lodge, and lodges across Norfolk—you’ll have the chance to grow in confidence, learn more about Freemasonry, and feel part of something bigger.
Norfolk Blues gives you the opportunity to provide feedback directly to the Provincial Executive, helping shape how the Province supports new members. Above all, our aim is to help you get the greatest enjoyment and enrichment from your membership of the Craft.

Staying Connected
We understand how valuable it is to feel connected, especially in your early years as a Mason. That’s why we communicate through several channels to keep you informed:
-
A private Facebook group where you can post, comment, and connect with fellow new members
-
Email updates for those who prefer not to use social media
-
Regular updates shared with Lodge Mentors and Secretaries, so your Lodge can keep you in the loop
You’ll also receive a distinctive Norfolk Blues lapel pin, which helps identify you as a new member. This encourages more experienced Brethren to welcome you, and helps you easily spot other Norfolk Blues at meetings.

Events, Visits & Membership
Membership of Norfolk Blues is free, and you’re eligible to join as soon as you complete your Ceremony of Initiation. Your membership lasts for five years, giving you plenty of time to settle in, grow your confidence, and make meaningful connections.
We regularly organise guided visits to local and national lodges, giving you the chance to watch the ceremonies you’ve just taken part in—this time from a new perspective. You’ll be guided through every step, from booking in, to sitting together at the Festive Board, with full support along the way.
These visits not only enhance your understanding of Freemasonry, but also give you the chance to build lasting friendships with other new Masons.
Whether you want to learn more, get involved, or simply feel part of a welcoming community, Norfolk Blues is here to support you.
