Norfolk Freemasons Support Local and National Charities with Recent Donations

Norfolk Freemasons continue to demonstrate their commitment to supporting communities both locally and nationally, with recent charitable contributions making a meaningful impact.
A donation of £1,500 was recently presented to Norfolk and Waveney Mind at their REST hub in Aylsham. The funding will support the charity’s ongoing work providing vital mental health services across the region, ensuring that people facing challenges are able to access help in a safe and supportive environment. REST hubs play an important role in offering early intervention and crisis support, helping to reduce pressure on emergency services while improving outcomes for individuals.
This donation was made possible through the efforts of Mark, the Worshipful Master of Suffield Lodge, and his wife Alice, whose commitment and drive have been central to the success of the fundraising. Their leadership and personal dedication reflect the very best of what Freemasonry stands for, bringing people together to support causes that genuinely change lives.
In addition to local work, Freemasons have also contributed to national initiatives. A donation of £1,423 was made to Access Sport in support of their Changing Young Lives appeal. The charity works to remove barriers to sport for disadvantaged and disabled young people, helping them to build confidence, resilience, and long term wellbeing through physical activity.
This contribution, again driven by the efforts of Mark and Alice, will support programmes that enable more young people to take part in sport, including those who may otherwise face exclusion due to financial, social, or physical barriers. Access Sport works with community clubs across the country, helping them to reach and support young people who would benefit most.
These donations reflect a broader commitment to charitable giving that focuses on both immediate community needs and longer term opportunities for young people. Whether supporting mental health services locally or improving access to sport nationally, Norfolk Freemasons continue to invest in initiatives that deliver tangible benefits.
Ian Betts, Community Engagement Officer for Norfolk Freemasons, said:
“Mark and Alice have led from the front on this. Their effort, organisation and commitment have directly translated into real support for two very important causes. This is exactly what we want to see more of across the Province.”
